REQUEST FOR CONTRACTOR QUOTATIONS

Exterior Door Replacement and Permanent Door Closure

The Town of Caroga is seeking three written quotations from qualified contractors for two separate exterior door improvement projects located at the south entrance of a Town building.

Contractors may submit quotations for one or both projects. Each project must be quoted separately, as the Town may award the projects to different contractors in accordance with its procurement policy and applicable law.

PROJECT 1 — EXTERIOR DOOR REPLACEMENT

Location: South Entrance

The Town is requesting quotations for the removal and replacement of one existing exterior door.

Scope of Work:

  1. Remove and properly dispose of the existing exterior door and frame as necessary.
  2. Furnish and install one new commercial-grade, insulated exterior door and appropriate frame.
  3. Include all necessary hardware, hinges, locks, weatherstripping, threshold, and other components needed for proper installation.
  4. Ensure the new door is properly aligned, secure, weather-tight, and fully operational.
  5. Complete any necessary trim, sealing, and finishing around the door.
  6. Remove all construction debris and leave the work area clean.
  7. Complete all work in accordance with applicable building, fire, accessibility, and safety codes.

The final door specifications and hardware requirements will be confirmed with the Town before quotations are submitted.

Contractors are responsible for obtaining and verifying all measurements during a site inspection.

PROJECT 2 — PERMANENT EXTERIOR DOOR CLOSURE

Location: South Entrance

The Town is requesting quotations for the permanent removal and masonry closure of a second existing exterior doorway.

Scope of Work:

  1. Remove and properly dispose of the existing exterior door, frame, and associated materials.
  2. Prepare the existing opening for permanent closure.
  3. Furnish and install suitable concrete masonry blocks or other approved masonry materials to permanently close the doorway.
  4. Properly secure the new masonry to the existing structure.
  5. Provide appropriate insulation, sealing, and weatherproofing suitable for an exterior wall.
  6. Finish the interior and exterior surfaces to match the surrounding walls as closely as practical.
  7. Include any necessary masonry finishing and painting in the quotation.
  8. Remove all construction debris and leave the work area clean.
  9. Complete the work in accordance with applicable building, fire, and safety codes, including approval of the proposed doorway closure.

Contractors are responsible for verifying all measurements and existing wall conditions during a site inspection.

QUOTATION REQUIREMENTS

All contractors submitting quotations must include:

  • Separate written quotations for Project 1 and Project 2.
  • Total cost of materials and labor for each project.
  • All removal and disposal costs.
  • Description of materials proposed.
  • Estimated timeframe for starting and completing each project.
  • Proof of appropriate liability insurance.
  • Identification of any additional work or expenses not included in the quotation.

SITE INSPECTIONS

Contractors are encouraged to arrange a site inspection before submitting their quotations.

All measurements, existing conditions, and installation requirements must be verified by the contractor before submitting a final price.
