Garbage Pickup

Garbage must be in tied bag. Bag must be curbside by 6 am.  NO BLACK or DARK GREEN Bags

Garbage is collected on:
Mondays — South end
Tuesdays — North end.
The dividing line is Mead Creek

Changes to the 2024 schedule are Memorial Day May 27,  Labor Day September 2, Columbus Day October 14, Election Day November 5, and Veterans Day November 11th.  If your pickup day falls on any of these holidays your curbside collection will be the next day.

It is dangerous and also illegal to plow snow across a Town Road per Article 1219 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law & Highway Law 214.

It is illegal (Local Law #2 of 2017) to park on Town of Caroga town and county roads between December 1 and April 1 of each year. Penalties include fines and/or imprisonment.

Lane Road STUMP DUMP is open to drive in as deemed by the Highway Superintendent. You may walk in using a foot path to deposit brush and leaves.  If the date is closed Call (518) 921-2792

For your safety, the Highway Superintendent recommends that you not wear dark clothes when walking at night on town roads, especially during snow plowing season. Light, reflective clothing is best. Please stay out of harm’s way when a snow plow approaches.
