New York State Boater’s Safety Course

West Caroga Lake Association will again be sponsoring the New York State Boater’s Safety Course this year. This year, the course will be taught by members of the Great Sacandaga Safe Lake Initiative. Be sure to check them out on Facebook (@GSL Safe Lake Initiative). Established in 2018, this group is deeply committed to promoting safe and responsible boating.

The course will be offered as a two-night session on Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Pine Lake’s Adirondack Paradise. The course itself is free; however, New York State requires a $10 fee to obtain your Boater Safety Certificate after you successfully complete the course.

Pre-registration is required and can be completed via a link on the West Caroga Lake Association website (www.wclainfo.com) or the Town of Caroga website.

Reminder: As of January 2025, all individuals operating a motorized boat in New York State are required to have a NYS Boater Safety Certificate.
